Where did the name "AppleIQ Solutions" come from?

The name AppleIQ Solutions was inspired by the 2009 Apple IQ Test published by technology journalist Paul Venezia. The quiz challenged Apple enthusiasts and IT professionals to test their knowledge of Apple's history, products, and technology. The concept of combining Apple expertise with technical intelligence resonated strongly and eventually inspired the AppleIQ name. Today, AppleIQ Solutions continues that philosophy by delivering professional diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and support services for Apple devices.


The AppleIQ logo is inspired by the universal power symbol, one of the most recognizable icons in modern technology. Found on computers, smartphones, monitors, servers, and countless electronic devices, it represents the ability to switch a device between on, off, and standby states.

The symbol itself has scientific origins. It is derived from the binary digits 1 and 0, which form the foundation of digital computing. In electrical and computer engineering, 1 traditionally represents an active or energized state, while 0 represents an inactive state. The modern power symbol combines these two concepts into a single icon that has become universally understood across the world.


For AppleIQ Solutions, the symbol carries a deeper meaning.

Our Journey to Helping You Repair and Learn

Every great idea starts with a problem waiting to be solved. For us, it all began with a simple goal: to make Apple device repair accessible, reliable, and educational.

I started AppleIQ with a vision to not only repair devices but also empower others with the knowledge and skills to do it themselves. With a background in IT and Computer Engineering, and currently studying Accounting, I realized that combining technical expertise with practical business experience could create something unique for our community.

From a small setup in Port Elizabeth, we began offering repairs for Apple products—everything from screens and batteries to advanced hardware issues. But we didn’t stop there. We saw a gap in tech education, especially for young people eager to learn about Apple devices. This inspired the launch of our AppleIQ Learn & Repair Lab, where training meets hands-on experience.

Today, AppleIQ is more than just a repair store. We provide high-quality parts, offer structured repair training programs, and create opportunities for budding tech entrepreneurs. Our journey has been driven by curiosity, passion, and a desire to make technology more accessible to everyone.
